PICTURE PERFECT....NOT! FUNNY WEBSITE: ASIANPOSES.COM

Sailor Salute Pose
(this is what I think the photo REALLY says: I've never been in the military, but I've watched enough movies to know this is a pose when done sexy, guys get a quick hard on provided I pucker up the lips! What guy can resist a girl that takes orders!?)

Ok, I have to admit I've seen some pretty funny websites, but ASIANPOSES.COM has to be by far the funniest one I've seen in a VERY long time. It's exactly what you think - a blog dissecting and putting on blast the many different custy poses imitated by Asians that you've come to love and hate.

Whether it be the "peace/victory sign" to the "let's blow a seductive fake air kiss" to the camera, I am shamed to say that I have been guilty of imitating a pose or two myself. Hey, i thought it was cool, cute or funny at one idiotic time. Now seeing these pictures has shed some light. Not sure it's cute, but it's definately funny as hell. Hopefully no one takes them serious, but if you do don't forget that you may find yourself posed perfectly on the site.

Don't deny or hate it....it's damn true! Check out the site ASIANPOSES.COM, it'll crack you up!

Blowing Kisses
(this is what this picture really says: I don't love you, but I'll pretend I love you by blowing you pretend kisses that you can catch in the air like a true stud. Think about it - I'd rather blow you a FAKE kiss than give you a real kiss. Isn't it cute? Feel special, feel really special, ha.)

I'm sad
(this is what I think the photo is really saying: I'm bloated. If I blow air in my mouth I will resist putting that cupcake in my mouth that I so desparately want instead of damn air. The things I have to do to stay lean and mean. I'm really sad.)

I'm confused
(this is what I think the photo is really saying: Damn, did I change my underwear today? I'm so confused and forgetful. Maybe if I look confused people will think I'm a confused cute klutz. So wait, did I change my underwear...)

rent this movie ONCE just ONCE!

I was returning a dvd and I happened to stop by 7-Eleven to browse the aisles. I saw ONCE, this independent movie on the racks on sale. I watched this movie about a year ago and I cried so hard by the end. I had the widest smile just from seeing this movie cover. I had to share this movie with anyone that hasn't seen it...it's that good!
Set in Dublin Ireland, this movie follows a street musician played by Glen Hansard who finds himself befriending a street vendor played by Marketa Irglova. For that week the two build a friendship and end up recording a series of songs . The music alone is breathtaking (all original songs) and it left me sobbing by the end. Without ruining the story just trust me when I say you will not regret watching it!

One of my favorite love quotes:

Love is always patient and kind. It is neer jealous. Love is never boastful or conceted. It is never rude or selfish. It does not take pleasure in other peoples sins, but delights in the truth. It is always ready to excuse, to trust, to hope, and to eudure whatever comes.

Junior Drake Sample Sale - steal of the week! !

'
"It's not the purse, it's the girl"

Los Angeles has the best sample sales. This past weekend JUNIOR DRAKE had their summer blowout bash this past weekend downtown. I have no shame getting a purse on sale. It's all good.

Soft, sweet, buttery leather. What a sight! Classic with a little edge, these purses normally priced between $350-$600 were priced $30-$90 each! What a steal. I ended up buying a gray purse (pictured above) and 2 other purses (not pictured). Woo hoo, I feel good and I don't feel broke!

Purses are like underwear. There are 7 days in a week. You wouldn't ask someone to wear the same underwear 7 times, right? Hey, that's my justification for having a couple of different purses.

Woo hoo!

Easy way to cheer anyone up - FLOWER POWER!

Easy way to cheer anyone up....Flower Power! Something about flowers. The smell, the look and the message it sends to someone.
By no means am I flower expert but i took these dozen roses and created my own simple floral arrangement from some flowers I received.
My favorite 2 flower shops in LA are MARK'S GARDEN (http://www.marksgarden.com/) and Costco. Yes, Costco! How can you get 2 beautiful dozen roses for $10-15 dollars?!!
Make someone's day and buy some flowers! You don't need an excuse. The best note you can write to someone is JUST BECAUSE!

KARAOKE FAIL

I was having the worst day in a long time....that was until I saw this.
Who doesn't love Karoke? I LOVE karoke, but with that said I'm not sure after seeing these two videos.

Who am I to knock people when they love to sing. More power to them! But don't hate me when I can't stop laughing.....

Be your own judge! (thanks ryan for the videos!)

Dolla make ya Holla! Red Box in the House!

I choose. I rent. I enjoy. They should change it to say I choose. I rent. I LOVE because that's how I feel after having tried this service for the first time last week.

Ok, watch out Netflix & Blockbuster, here comes Red Box. Red Box has really figured something out. Consumers hate paying a lot of money to rent a movie. Back in the day I used to watch a movie for $2.75 (yes, I'm getting OLD) at a local theatre and now it costs about $12-14. Being more conscious on how I spend my money I've cut back on watching movies and subscribed to netflix. Don't get me wrong, I love Netflix. They deliver the movies in about a day after they receive my return, but on certain days it stinks when I have no movies to watch.

Now that's where Red Box comes into play. These stand alone red boxes basically act as a self-checkout Blockbuster. You can find the nearest red box and reserve the movie online and pick it up. Now here's the best part - It's only $1 to rent! You have until 9 pm the next day to return it. Use your ATM/Credit Card to purchase and it spits it out in a matter of seconds. You can return it to any Red Box location when you are done. For every additional day you get charged 1/day which is reasonable. They have all the latest rentals so if you are looking for an oldie but goodie this service might fail you on that note. Other than that I give this two thumbs up.

Great product, convenient and dynamite price. Yes, I said Dynamite. It's the bomb! Boom!

What a great girls night or date night. With the recession still present you can still have fun for $1! Just imagine if you watched the movie with 5 people - that's .25 cents a head!

Tip of the day: Be smart with your money honey!

Head to their website to find your nearest location: http://www.redbox.com/

you can't see my face with these new glasses...

Be “UNSEEN” wearing these Stupidiotic Black Bar glasses. Over the weekend my boss went to Big Bear and she went to this store STUPIDIOTIC and thought these glasses would be right up my alley. She said it was my kind of humor...hmm I guess she knows I'm a cheezeball! So now I have 2 new unseen glasses that I'll put to good use at a future party!
Plus the box has this funny tag:
Better to buy 2. It's best to buy an extra set for your friends. if you don't have have any friends having an extra set will certainly make you some new friends!
Has anyone seen this store? I haven't but it seems like it would be a fun store for some random ass stuff. I'm imagining a store with all funny/cool random items that you see at Urban Outfitters. Plus all the items range from $5-25 dollars. Not stupidly expensive =) It's cool to be STUPID!
Check out the store or go to the website and see other cuckoo wacky items for sale!

My apartment backyard....well sort of!

This is my inspiration for being so green inspired. I like low maintenance modern green plants. This flower shop in the Hillcrest area of San Diego was a bullseye of what I wanted. A small plotted plant here ranged from $40-$75 depending on the plant and type of pot. Clean lines with a hint of color that is subtle yet adda a touch of color to any room...that's what I'm talking about!

I decided to head to Ikea and see if I can find something similar without breaking the bank.

Here are my potted tropical plants. The plants were $1.50 each & 99 cents for the white pots. I am loving the simple but classic designs. So each plant was only $2.50/each! What a deal! I'm goint to keep them indoors. Super low maintenance.

The weather was ideal this weekend so I finally decided to clean out our balcony and throw out all the misc. boxes filled with clothes and misc. items to be donated. We had a work sale a couple of months earlier and I was able to get these chairs for $2 each! I"m planning on buying some cool fabric to recover the chair pads to spice it up a bit, but for now I don't mind it being a simple seating area to relax and unwind. The ikea side tables are old but these can still be bought for $7.99. Plus I added a old brown rug that we don't use anymore (sorry you can't see it in the pic).

These are the pots that I bought. They are selling for 99 cents for the smallest size and they have 2 sizes bigger that cost $2 & $ 2.99 respectively. Being green while saving on some green!

My wannabee green garden on the ledge of my balcony! Garden in the Ghetto.

More pics of the plants. Nothing fancy but it's a little something to make me feel a little more homey!

Upclose pics of my potted plants! Love them! Simple redo with little money spent so I'm a happy frugal customer! Low maintenance, reasonably priced and modern decor....what else can I ask for.

Til' next time!

PEEKABOO - I SEE YOU - SNUGGIES FOR BABIES!

Peekaru has their version of a snuggie for babies. Looks like they should have just called
this item PEEKABOO! Isn't it enough you ask the female to carry the baby for 10 mos
and now you want her to relive it by strapping this trendy invention. I'm mixed with
emotions - is it cute or cruel? Maybe cute for onlookers, but cruel to the baby & baby
mama. You wonder why kids don't want to walk on their own feet. Hmm let me think
about it. If someone carried me around on their back and on their stomach, I think
I'd be set for life.

I'm sure they'll come out with new designs - Camaflouge design to make it male friendly.
Think about it...dads can bring their kids hunting without being seen. Maybe they should
have one with the words CRUEL right over the belly. Plus this thing is $80 dollars. I'd
rather just wear a baby bjorn with the baby inside and cover it with a blanket. Tough
times are ahead and I'm not too sure if I would drop that much money.
My vote - Two thumbs down!

Fixer upper of the day! Table for Two..or 3 or more!

I've been thinking about do it yourself projects for the longest time. I still have our bookshelf and chairs to update and make fresh & new, but I was browsing designspongeonline.com and found this and became inspired again. How awesome is this?!!

BETTER THAN A SNUGGIE?? A SLANKET!

What’s better than the best selling SNUGGIE? Well I think I found it....SLANKETS are awesome!

Why do I like this better? I’ll tell you why:
1) More appealing colors to choose from. I’m loving the apricot color.
2) Better product name. Slanket – Blanket with sleeves. Clever I tell you!
3) Better fabric. The slanket is more plush and luscious. Snuggies may be cheaper, but they are copy cats and the fabric isn’t as juicy!
4) It was the original blanket with long sleeves! Did you know that? Everyone has a snuggie, but does everyone have a slanket? Be original!

Be your own judge and order one yourself! www.slanket.com

AMAZING RACE HERE I COME....

Team Jen & Thanhic (pronounced Gin & Tonic) are in the hizzhouse! I’ve been a huge fan of amazing race for years and Great Urban Race is back with their yearly race in LA on March 21st! GUR puts their spin on Amazing Race in cities across America…think wacky scavenger hunt. I’m going to force the T man to wear our matching Nike windbreakers with shorts just in case it gets hot. The heat isn’t going to stop me from getting my game on. Hopefully I can convince Thanh to throw on a wig and some matching socks. The more hideous we look, the more people will help us out! I just know I’m in it to win it.
Teams of of two solve twelve clues, have a wild city adventure and complete fun challenges while discovering the city in a fresh way during a fun day.

The object of the game:

to have fun! (HELL YEAH)
to have a city adventure. (DUH)
to properly complete all the clues first. (hmmmm let's hope we can just finish)

My goal isn’t to win. I just want to finish. T man thinks we both are horrible with directions and is worried we might argue a lot, but isn’t that the fun of it all?!!
I agreed to sign some stupid document he’s putting together stating that we won’t get upset after the day and what’s said remains with GUR. I had to BEG the T man to do this, but my charming ways sealed the deal!
If we can stay together as a couple and not break up, I’ll be super happy! Ha! Wish me good luck…I’ll need it!

fuck you...fuck you :)

This song rocks. Catchy and fantastic lyrics. Fuck you...fuck you very very much!

Look inside
Look inside your tiny mind
Now look a bit harder
Cause we're so uninspired,
so sick and tired of all the hatred you harbor

So you say
It's not okay to be gay
Well I think you're just evil
You're just some racist
who can't tie my laces
Your point of view is midieval

F*ck you F*ck you very, very much
Cause we hate what you do
And we hate your whole crew
So please don't stay in touch

F*ck you F*ck you very, very much
Cause your words don't translate
And it's getting quite late
So please don't stay in touch

THREAD

Kayla (whoop whoop) is the best for introducing me to this website - THREADDESIGN.com

Thread brand has two lines: Bridal & Social. The bridal line delivers fashion forward gowns while still executing the clean and timeless lines one would expect. Plus it doesn't break the bank (bridal stuff anyway). With the success of the bridal line, the two founders, who previously worked at Chanel & Barney's launched the Social line. The Social line is "a tribute to all things nostalgic & flirty". I am loving it!

What I love the most about THREAD is their bridal line! Nothing is worse than spending a ton of money on an ugly bridesmaid dress never to be worn again (except for Halloween). Normally I imagine girls having fun parties to burn the ugly dresses but not with these dresses. They are trendy yet simple, classic yet modern. Just perfect!
The one thing that bugs me is the fact that dresses always look good on the skinnies. Yes, you heard me. The skinnies. Us fatties have been hibernating during winter and storing all the sweets & fats! I love food too much. Time for some crunches and lots of exercise and healthier eating options! I guess it's going to be awhile until I do any dress shopping anytime soon!
